At the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Department of Materials and Production a PhD stipend is available. The stipend is open for appointment from 15 March 2021 or soon hereafter. Department of Materials and Production (MP) has a wide-ranging research and educational environment at Aalborg University. The Department's mission is to meet the future's demands for new materials and production systems by directing the whole value chain from basic material understanding, materials' applications in mechanical constructions, industrial production and management. The department has several strong, international and innovative research groups, which comprise everything from basic science to strategic and applicable research. The activities encompass research as well as education within materials, mechanics, physics, production technology, and industrial management and innovation. As an employee at the Department you will become a part of an international research environment, where focus is on innovation, knowledge sharing/building and interdisciplinary collaborations. Specifically the candidate will be part of a collaborative research and development platform “The Innovation Factory North” and is part of a collaboration with University College North Jutland (<a href="http://www.ucn.dk/">www.ucn.dk</a>) and will be affiliated with both institutions. The candidate will furthermore be engaged in an experimental collaboration with technology providers and industrial companies in the context of the Smart Production Lab at AAU (<a href="https://www.smartproduction.aau.dk/">https://www.smartproduction.aau.dk</a>), which will serve at the physical demonstration space for the project.</p>

At the Technical Faculty of IT and Design, Department of Electronic Systems, one or more PhD stipends in Network Audio Signal Processing are available within the general study programme Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The stipends are open for appointment from April 15th, 2021, or soon as possible thereafter. In the area of electronics engineering, Aalborg University is known worldwide for its high academic quality and the societal relevance of its research programmes. The Department of Electronic Systems employs more than 200 staff, of which about 40% are international, and about 90 enrolled PhD students. The Department hosts 620 students. The Department's excellent research infrastructures and facilities accentuate its global position in teaching and research. Department research centres around communication, antennas, control systems, signal processing, cyber security and acoustics. The Department plays an active role in translating discoveries and results in practical applications with industrial partners and through IPR. Within its subject field, the Department provides teaching for several BSc and MSc programmes using a problem- and project-based learning model.
