The postdoc project will focus on research, design and development of wireless solutions facilitating mission-critical communications for first responders. The work will include, but is not limited to: (i) assessment of the current systems for mission-critical communications, like LTE- and TETRA-based ones, as well as of the emerging 5G approaches, (ii) proposal of the enhancements and development directions for novel solutions with an increasing level of autonomy and robustness, and (iii) design, development and prototyping of cellular and ad-hoc networking solutions. The emphasis of the work will be on algorithms, methods and protocols on layer 2 and the higher layers of the protocol stack, which rely on the candidate radio-interfaces.

A prospective candidate should be capable of autonomously conducting research in the above areas, have excellent analytical skills and an attitude towards practical implementation.
