2022-224-04680 Assistant Professor in IT and learning design

At the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Department of Culture and Learning, Aalborg University, campus Copenhagen, a three-year full-time position as Assistant Professor in IT and learning design, focusing on design processes and visual methods in educational and organisational development, will be available for appointment from 1<sup>st</sup> September 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Job description

The position will be affiliated to the IT and Learning Design research group (L-ILD) that works interdisciplinary in the field of learning, IT and didactics, exploring the opportunities presented by IT for informing and facilitating learning and for strengthening creativity and innovation. As well as doing basic research, L-ILD conducts action research and design-oriented research in cooperation with external partners from companies, educational institutions, or public organisations. 

The candidate for this position will contribute to the teaching, supervision and coordination primarily within the MSc in Information Technology, Specializing in ICT, Learning and Organizational Change (ILOO), and the Master of Data-driven Organisational Development (MDO), and possibly other programmes such as Master of IT, Organisation (MIT), Master of ICT and Learning (MIL), MA in Learning and Innovative Change (LFP), all of which are taught in Danish.

Assistant professorship
A position as assistant professor is a fixed-term training position which includes an obligation to carry out research and teaching activities. To a limited extent, additional tasks may be defined by the University. The appointment includes a requirement to attend a course in university pedagogy for assistant professors organised by the University.

The employment as assistant professor must not exceed a total period of four years at the same institution (a maximum of six years at assistant professor level at AAU and a maximum of eight years at assistant professor level in Denmark). 

Applicants for the assistant professorship are required to possess academic qualifications; for example a PhD degree or similar academic qualifications.

  • Copies of your degree certificates (including Master’s and PhD certificates) 

Applicants will be assessed by an expert assessment committee. Applicants may be invited to an interview and/or asked to give a trial lecture.

This means that subsequent to the deadline for applications the head of department supported by the chair of the assessment committee will select candidates for assessment. All applicants will be informed whether they will be assessed or not. The selected applicants will be informed of the composition of the assessment committee, and each applicant will have the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that applies to the applicant in question. When the employment process has been terminated, a final rejection will be sent to the applicants who are not considered for the position.
