At the Technical Faculty of IT and Design, Department of Architecture, Design, and Media Technology, a Research Assistent in Computer Vision and Tongue control of Exoskeletons is open for appointment from 1 September 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointment will be a fixed term of 1 year, full-time position.

The Department of Architecture, Design, and Media Technology has as its goal the development of an innovative cluster of engineering-based environments for education and research which integrate creativity, engineering and technology within the disciplines of architecture, urban design, industrial design, digital design and interactive media. The department is a leading research and educational environment in Denmark that addresses the challenge of the interplay between creativity and technology, and develops new areas in research and education directed towards the end-user.

The successful candidate will be hosted by the Visual Analysis and Perception Lab. You can read more about VAP LAB in Aalborg - an internationally recognized lab working on different aspects of AI. Focus has previously been on visual data but has recently been expanded to cover also other data modalities including textual data.

Your work tasks and your Competencies

The work will be related to assisting tasks in relation to computer vison based control of an exoskeleton with a tongue interface and include assisting experimental and clinical studies of the system.

The successful candidate for the position must have experience with clinical studies with tongue controlled exoskeletons incorporating computer vision technologies. Furthermore, the candidate must hold a MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering. 

It will also be an advantage if the applicant has experience in developing protocols for clinical and human trials regarding tongue controlled exoskeletons.

Qualification requirements 
Appointment as a research assistant requires academic qualifications at master's degree level.
