Research Assistant in Learning Factories for Smart Production
At the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Department of Materials and Production a 20% position as Research Assistant in Learning Factories for Smart Production is open for appointment from September 1st 2025 or soon thereafter.
The position is available for a period of 2,5 years and will be with the research group CIP.
Job description
The position will be related to the AddSmart 1.0 and 2.0 research projects. These research projects aim at enabling digital transformation in SMEs in the Northern part of Denmark. The position is conditional on the continuation of this project portfolio.
The research and project activities will require a high degree of engagement with companies. Hence, the candidate must have extensive experience with industrial collaboration. The ideal candidate must have experience with the various Industry 4.0 technologies as well as experience with Learning Factories, agile product development methods, and strategic concept development.

Department of Materials and Production (MP) is a wide-ranging research and educational environment at Aalborg University. The Department's mission is to meet the future's demands for new materials and production systems by directing the whole value chain from basic material understanding to materials' applications in mechanical construction, industrial production, and management. The department has several strong, international, and innovative research groups, which comprise everything from basic science to strategic and applicable research. The activities encompass research and education within materials, mechanics, physics, production techniques, and industrial management and innovation. Benefitting the industry and additional collaborators, several innovative and unconventional collaborations have been developed through interdisciplinary cooperation. Thereby, as an employee at the Department, you will become a part of an international research environment where the focus is on innovation, knowledge sharing/building, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
Qualification requirements
Appointment as a research assistant requires academic qualifications at master's degree level.
