Research assistant in Responsible AI
At the Technical Faculty of IT and Design, Department of Architecture, Design and Media Technology a position as Research Assistant is open for appointment from 1st of October 2025, or soon hereafter. The appointment will be a fixed term of 1 year, full-time position.
The Department of Architecture, Design, and Media Technology has as its goal the development of an innovative cluster of engineering-based environments for education and research which integrate creativity, engineering and technology within the disciplines of architecture, urban design, industrial design, digital design and interactive media. The department is a leading research and educational environment in Denmark that addresses the challenge of the interplay between creativity and technology, and develops new areas in research and education directed towards the end-user.

Your work tasks
We are looking for a Research Assistant who can contribute to responsible AI projects in the Visual Analysis and Perception Lab, AAU. The activities include background research, method and software development, and testing.
- Education within and/or extensive experience with computer vision and deep learning (mandatory)
- Strong English communication skills (mandatory)
- Strong programming skills in Python and deep learning frameworks (mandatory)
- Demonstrated expertise in the domain of responsible AI (uncertainty, OOD detection, XAI and related problems) (desirable)
- Experience in research collaborations (desirable)
- Authored/co-authored peer-reviewed scientific publications (desirable)

Qualification requirements
Appointment as a research assistant requires academic qualifications at master's degree level.
